Principles of Reiki

Just for today, I will not anger.
Just for today, I will let go of worry.
Just for today, I will do my work honestly.
Just for today, I will give thanks for my many blessings.
Just for today, I will be kind to my neighbor and every living thing.
Just for today, I will honor my teachers.

What is Reiki?

The healing art of Reiki sends the Universal Life Force energy, also known as Chi (Chinese), Ki (Japanese), and Ka (Egyptian), to certain areas in the body. This Life Force Energy refers to that which connects us all to each other, nature and the creative force of the universe. It is a higher vibration and as it courses through the physical body, it raises the vibration of all the cells in that body. This promotes balance and health in not only the physical body, but also in the emotional, mental, and spiritual bodies.

What Can I Expect During the Reiki Session?

During the Reiki session you remain completely clothed. The Reiki Practitioner typically will be placing her/his hands about 6 inches above your body, starting at your head and working down to your feet. The Practitioner will be guided to perform the healing in any one, or all, of your energy bodies. Certain sacred symbols will be used during the session to enhance and focus the energy where it is most needed. Aromatherapy may also be used in combination with Reiki to assist with clearing/releasing emotional or mental blocks.

Reiki can also be done long distance. As with all healing and spiritual work permission from the person who is to receive the healing is required.

You may experience deep relaxation during the session, and may even fall asleep. When the session is complete, you may feel energized or very peaceful and calm. Because this is energy work, you will be thirsty after the session, and possibly for several days following the session. Drink at least 8 glasses of water per day to honor your body’s request and drink only pure (not tap) water. The water will flush out any toxins that are being released as a part of the healing process. When your body is sufficiently hydrated, the cells in your body can communicate more clearly and efficiently, which promotes faster healing.
